Tradelands Economic Update – August 3, 2025
It was an incredible month for the economy of Tradelands. As of the final closing bell of July, the $2.46 Billion in economic activity. This is over twice as much market activity as we saw this time last year. The incredible performance is owed almost entirely to the crate releases which came out as part of the 10th Year Anniversary event. There were technically three types of mystery crates, giving a sort of “choose your preferred adventure” aspect to it, instead of the one size fits all approach to previous mystery crates.

Along with the update, changes were made to the map and to the way mining works in the game. These changes have also impacted the market. The M&G Index saw a jump of +16.31% in July, due almost entirely to the new progressive mining system. Some materials have lost a significant amount of value due to the changes, mainly because they are now commodity resources, while others have seen their prices elevate. Because the changes are not part of the crate releases, but the map update in general, we expect that the changes in these item values may be somewhat permanent.
Mining Mechanics Impact
The change to mining had a significant impact on several items that are available on the mining chart. New items such as Citrine, Platinum, and Topaz have changed the rarity of some items. Moreover, there is a new leveling system where some items only drop from certain rocks. These are denoted by the color of the metal on the rock you are mining.
This change has been specifically hard on Gold. Previously, this was a low drop chance item, but with the recent change it is now a common material. Prices for Gold have been dropping since the release. The current price point is $1.2k (down from $1.4k at its peak) per piece, with the trending price at $900 per piece. This means the price for Gold will fall under $1,000 once the current market inventory is cleared or re-priced, and there is currently no sign that the fall is slowing.
Two other indicator materials are on the market now. The first is Platinum which is the tier above gold. This follows the same mechanics as Emerald prior to the change. Right now, it looks to be stabilizing at around $2k which will set the benchmark for performance in the mining industry going forward. The second item is Topaz, which is one of the new gemstone materials added to the game. It is the only material able to be mined from lower level rocks, meaning it is the easiest to obtain and will set the bar for how low gemstone materials can go.
Electrosteel Skyrockets
The last big trend in the mining sector is Electrosteel. This material has seen it’s price point increase following the release. This is due to the fact that Electrosteel is currently unobtainable and sellers are capitalizing on this issue much like Coal when it was unobtainable last year. This is a temporary issue as the developer has already announced they are working on addressing the issue, which most likely stems from the changes in how weather works in-game as a part of the map update.

Make no mistake, this is a temporary thing only. Sellers will continue to capitalize on demand from desperate buyers who need it quickly, such as those building the new ship variants. But if you are no in a rush, it’s best to wait out the current trend and buy once Electrosteel prices has stabilized at their new price point. The only thing that will change the price in the long run should be the drop rates from high-end rocks. That is, unless there are additional mechanics further limiting it’s availability to miners in-game.
Mystery Crate Impact
The decision to release two mystery crates side by side caused some interesting dynamics in the market. The sheer volume of purchases from these crates have saturated the market once more. There are five items which are trending from this release:
1. Burkeland Prize Token
The Burkeland Prize Token was re-released in the 10th Anniversary Crate. This allows players to build specific items at their crafting table. The price prior to the releae hovered around $2M and was a low demand item. The re-release has moved the price point to $995,623.26. More importantly, buyer interest has returned and is hovering between $500k and $600k.
This item is performing at expectations. It is aligned with the blueprints that are being sold along with the new ship variants. This means if you are looking to price this item for yourself, and can’t find a good recommended price, use any weapon blueprint as a guide and you will be in the same ballpark.
2. Terry Blunderblaster
The Terry Blunderblaster ended its debut month at $121,474.52. This is a disappointing finish for owners of this new weapon. First, it was initally expected to hold its price point against the OG Blunderblaster which use to sell for over $1M before it went on sale in February, moving the price down to $700k. That meant that a finish anywhere above $500k was a good price for this new Terry version, but it wasn’t able to sustain that price point. The current price is aligned with the Trapshooter Blunderblaster variant. Still, this item performed better than the Bubba’s Bad Breath on its IPO, although there are some signs that it may still fall below the $100k mark. August will be an important month for determining the long-term price point for this item.
3. Faction Navy Capes
Faction Navy capes come in multiple varieties and were expected to have a price point that mirrored the Sashimono, due to its similar drop rates and multiple variations. However, while it initially looked like it would follow this trend, the prices have already collapsed. Some capes are obtainable for $50k while they were still on sale, meaning this has under performed market expectations. The price point for the month is trending toward $178k while initial inventory is re-listed, but with steady capacity and multiple options for buyers, this is expected to fall closer to the $100k mark.
4. Mystery Crate Blueprint
From the Greatest Hits crate came the Mystery Crate Blueprint. This had a 1% drop change, and inside is a 25% chance for one of 4 off-sale ships. Two of these, the Wyvern and the Demeter, are highly sought after, so it comes as no surprise that this item performed very well on the market. Some Mystery Crate Blueprints go for as high as $3 Million, but the average price is hovering jsut above $2 Million. When factoring in buyer demand, the price for Mystery Crate Blueprints is $1,912,228.92. The trends also indicate that the item will probably go up in value once the anniversary event is over. Moreover, buyer demand is currently healthy, meaning that sellers will have an easier time negotiating the price they want. That said, be warned that two of the possible outcomes with this item are not likely to net you a win, so unless you are intending to build whatever ship you get from it, you are better off re-selling it and purchasing the blueprint you actually want.
5. Ship Blueprints
Finally, the big winners of this event were the ship blueprints. The John Salem was released from the 10th Anniversary Crate with a 1% drop rate, This item is currently at $1,310,839.04 but has mixed demand and may have trouble maintaining it’s price point in the long term. Currently, it appears to be following the same trend at the Megalodon Blueprint from 2024.
The Wyvern Blueprint, which was one of the most closely watched in recent months, ended with a sell price of $3,133,000. Some sellers have been able to re-sell their blueprints for over $4 Million, meaning that this blueprint has been one of the most successful. It dropped from the Mystery Crate Blueprint, which means it’s overall drop rate was 0.25%. Buyer demand remains incredibly high, but not likely to be as strong as last year as there are more viable ironclads on the market.
Lastly, the Demeter Blueprint was added to the game. This is a new item as the ship was previously buildable during special events. The blueprint drop rate was 0.25% and ended at $3,006,014.69 for its opening month. The demand for this item remains incredibly strong and a buyers appear more willing to negotiate prices for this item any other blueprint on the market, including the Wyvern Blueprint. This item is likely to go up in value after the Greatest Hits crates go off-sale.
