Select Tradelands Recession Update – September 2026

This month saw just over $1 Billion in new trade activity ($1,004,016,171.00 to be precise). This was well below expectations for the month, but the real cause for this was a poor performing August. September is usually a slow month and the market activity usually falls by around 10-15%, and this month was a drop was -23.4%, nearly twice the expected rate. And, since the economy is already in a recession, this was more painful than it would have been in a healthy year.

There were several days this month that didn’t see significant market activity, with 4 days failing to even show $10 Million in transactions. The final week was also one of the poorest performing in all of 2026, which is what capped the loss of -45.8% in economic performance, making this the worse performing month of the entire year, and does not set the market up for a successful Halloween Event, which is usually one of the better performing events.

Invisible Displays Stabilize

On a more positive note, we’ve had one of our first A+ elevations since Eobloxium earlier this month. This time it’s Invisible Displays that have reached the coveted AAA rating. These items have been trading consistently at $7k Per Piece for some time now and there is finally enough volume on the market to consider it “very stable.” Moreover, it’s interest rate hit 0.5% meaning the market indicates that you are able to gain your money back at nearly the same price as you paid for it.

Cannon Converts Gaining Momentum

Two Cannon Converters were added to the market this month, the Dragon Cannon Converter and the Stinger Cannon Converter. These two were released a while ago, but never had enough interest to meet the Initial Public Offering (IPO) threshold to actually get listed on the stock exchange. This month, they finally hit that threshold.

Between the two, the Dragon Cannon Converter performs slightly better, but both are suffering from the inertia of the recession. The Stinger Cannons typically trade between $65k to $70k, while the Dragon Cannons trade between $80k to $85k. In the grand scheme of things, it’s not a huge difference, but the additional demand for Dragon Cannons is largely driven by the interest in Inyola themed weapons. Both are trending down at the moment, with Dragon Cannons taking a steeper dive, so it’s unknown if these two will eventually reach parity. If they do, Dragon Cannons are likely to be the bigger loser between the two, making Stinger Cannons a safer long term play if you are risk adverse.

Prep for the Halloween Event

Finally, September is really more the preparation for the upcoming Halloween Event. There are two key indicators for how this event will perform, mainly because it sets the market price for the start of the event.

After looking at the metrics for the month, there are a handful of conclusions we can make. First, it looks like Premium Token prices will stabilize at $245 at the point when the Halloween Event kicks off. That’s the lowest it has been for any event, which means there will likely be a lot of interest in items that are available for purchase for Premium Tokens.

On the other hand, the lower overall price for Mystery Crates means there may not be a re-sellers market for the item. While the price has risen $7k since the end of the last event, which is the normal trend once it goes off-sale, it did not rebound far enough to have a competitive starting price compared to the last event. However, this can change based on the types of items that go into the crate, but it’s still unlikely we will see it trading at the same price we saw this time in 2025.
